Cameron Taylor of Watauga High fired a three-over par 39 Thursday afternoon and finished six shots off the lead in the final non-conference match of the season at the Cedar Rock Country Club
in Lenior. Christian Carpenter of Fred T. Foard was the leading medalist as he bested the field with a six-under par 33.
Hibriten, playing on its home course, won the meet with a team score of 151. St. Stephens finished a shot back with a 152. The Pioneers were seventh in the field witn a team score of 174. Austin Northern of the Pioneers had a 44; Troy McNeil had a 45; Dylan Cook had a 46.
The Pioneers open Northwestern 3A/4A Conference play at the Catawba County Country Club Monday. Fred T. Foard will be the host school.

WHS TENNIS RAINED OUT
The Watauga High men's tennis match with Hibriten was postponed after two lengthy lightning delays on Thrursday afternoon at the Sports Complex. The match will be made up April 17 in Lenior. The Pioneers (5-0 overall; 3-0 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference) play three matches next week. They travel to St. Stephens Tuesday, to Fred . Foard Wednesday, and they return home to play Mooresville on Friday. All those matches begin at 4:30 p.m.
