The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (7-22) was able to split a doubleheader with Indiana (Pa.) (7-8-1) Wednesday afternoon at Bears Field.  The Crimson Hawks won the first game by a 20-7 score before the Bears recovered to win the second contest, 8-1. In the opener,

IUP's Dylan Songer (Baden, Pa.) finished with four hits and five runs batted in to go along with a three-run home run to lead the Crimson Hawks to the victory.
Both teams plated five runs in the first inning before Songer connected on what would be the game-winning RBI double in the second.
Indiana (Pa.) then broke the contest open with a six-run fourth inning highlighted by a two-run home run from John Beatty (New Castle, Pa.).  Beatty finished with three hits and two runs batted in for IUP as well.
Dylan Tice (Perkasie, Pa.) added two hits and three RBI for the Crimson Hawks, who finished with 17 hits in the victory.  IUP's Ben Weimer (New Alexandria, Pa.) improved to 1-2 after being credited with the win.
Junior shortstop Dalton Hall (Hickory, N.C.) drove in two runs while sophomore Billy Everding (Fort Myers, Fla.) fell to 0-3 after suffering the loss on the mound for the Bears.
In game two, L-R freshman Hunter Conley (Cornelius, N.C.) went the distance to lead the Bears to win and the split of the doubleheader.  Conley (1-0) allowed just one run while scattering nine hits and striking out three batters.
The Bears took the lead for good by scoring twice in the bottom of the first inning when junior outfielder Rai Robinson (Kings Mountain, N.C.) and freshman catcher Luke Baynham (Dunwoody, Ga.) each drove in a run.
L-R scored a run in each of the first five innings including a two-run triple from freshman outfielder Ivan Vieitez (Miami, Fla.) in the fourth.  Vieitez finished with two hits and two runs scored to lead the Bears.
Robbie Zinsmeister (Hatfield, Pa.) drove in Indiana (Pa.)'s only run in the second inning while Brett Quiggle (Weedville, Pa.) (0-1) suffered the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday when it travels to Anderson, S.C., to face Anderson beginning at 6:00 p.m.  IUP, meanwhile, plays at Pikeville (Ky.) on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
