LRU Women's Golf Ninth At Dana Rader Intercollegiate PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Golf Team shot a 674 (+98) to finish in a ninth-place tie the Dana Rader Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at the Ballantyne Resort.  A total of 15 schools competed in the tournament. Lander won the

event after shooting a 615 (+39) on the par-72, 5,845-yard course while Armstrong Atlantic State's Kelly Pearce was the top individual as she won in a playoff over Mount Olive's Emelie Andersson and Pfeiffer's Chelsea Demers.  A three players shot a 149 (+5).
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by senior Katie Thackerson (Earl, N.C.), who moved up six spots after the first round to finish in an 11th-place tie.  Thackerson carded a 154 (+10) for the tournament.
Sophomore Grace Brahler (Lawrence, Kan.) tied for 37th with a 168 (+24) while junior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) finished with a 173 (+29) to tie for 56th overall.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team next competes in the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate on March 26 and 27 in Mint Hill, N.C.  Wingate will serve as the host institution.
