Bears Finish 10th At The Pirate Invitational PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Golf Team placed 10th overall out of 16 schools with a 690 (+114) at the Armstrong Atlantic State Pirate Invitational which finished up on Tuesday

at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
UNC Pembroke won the event with a 636 (+60) on the par-72, 5,824-yard course while the Braves' Meghan Moore was the top player in the tournament as she finished with a 153 (+9) over 36 holes.
L-R junior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) was the Bears' No. 1 golfer for the tournament as she tied for 15th with a 164 (+20).
Meanwhile, sophomore Grace Brahler (Lawrence, Kan.) tied for 39th with a 172 (+28) while senior Katie Thackerson (Earl, N.C.) finished with a 174 (+30) to tie for 47th overall.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team next competes in the Dana Rader Intercollegiate on March 12 and 13 in Charlotte, N.C.

LRU Men's Golf Finishes Fifth At Rendleman Invitational

 


The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 591 (+23) to finish fifth out of 18 schools as the final round of the Richard Rendleman Invitational concluded Tuesday at the Country Club of Salisbury.
UNC Pembroke won the event with a 571 (+3) on the par-71, 6,665-yard course while Belmont Abbey's Adam Hedges was the top individual as he carded a three-under 139 for the tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior Sam Pressley (Knoxville, Tenn.) was the Bears' top golfer after 36 holes of play as he tied for eighth with a 143 (+1).
Meanwhile, freshman Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) tied for 19th with a 147 (+5) while junior Brandon Squier (Advance, N.C.) finished with a 152 (+10), good for a 47th-place tie for the Bears as well.
The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Golf Team next competes in the Pinehurst Challenge on March 19 and 20 in Pinehurst, N.C.
