The Limestone College Baseball Team (7-11) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (5-19) by a 10-3 score Tuesday afternoon at Bob Prevatte Field. The Saints' Josh Lyon (Indianapolis, Ind.) hit a

three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning while Chad Balderman (Irmo, S.C.) added three hits and two runs scored as Limestone snapped a two-game losing streak.
Lyon's home run was part of a four-run first inning and Limestone led 7-1 after three innings of play en route to the victory.
After an RBI groundout by junior first baseman Colton Hansley (Asheville, N.C.) cut Lenoir-Rhyne's deficit to 7-2 in the sixth inning, Limestone put the contest away with three runs its half of the seventh inning.
L-R freshman catcher Luke Baynham (Dunwoody, Ga.) finished with three hits and drove in a run despite the loss for the Bears.
On the mound, Limestone's Zack Lucas (Annapolis, Md.) improved to 4-0 with the win as he limited L-R to just two runs over six innings while Matt Varnadoe (Charlotte, N.C.) earned his first save of the year. For the Bears, freshman Travis McQueen (Moseley, Va.) (0-3) was tagged with the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to host Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference weekend baseball series. The first game is scheduled for Friday beginning at 6:00 p.m. Limestone, meanwhile, plays at Anderson on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
