LRU Men's Golf Tied For Sixth At Rendleman Invite PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 300 (+16) on the first day Monday of the 2012 Richard Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury and currently sits in

sixth place out of 18 schools with one round to go.
UNC Pembroke carded a 291 (+7) on the par-71, 6,665-yard course and leads the tournament while Queens' Alex Weare is the top individual after 18 holes with a two-under 69.
For Lenoir-Rhyne, senior Sam Pressley (Knoxville, Tenn.) is the top Bears' golfer after the first round of action. Pressley is tied for 11th as he finished with a 72 (+1) on Monday.
Freshman Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) shot a 74 (+3) and is tied for 15th while sophomore John White (Granite Falls, N.C.) is tied for 27th with a 76 (+5) after the first round as well.

 


The final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.

LRU Women's Golf Tied For Ninth After First Round of Pirate Invite

 


The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team carded a 350 (+62) after the first round of the Armstrong Atlantic State Pirate Invitational Monday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club and is currently tied for ninth out of 16 schools.
UNC Pembroke is in first place after 18 holes as the Braves shot a 318 (+30) on the par-72, 5,824-yard course. Armstrong Atlantic State's Kristen Sammarco leads the tournament after firing a three-over 75 in the first round of play.
Sophomore Grace Brahler (Lawrence, Kan.) leads Lenoir-Rhyne with an 82 (+10), good for a 13th-place tie.
Junior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) is tied for 27th with an 85 (+13) while senior Katie Thackerson (Earl, N.C.) finished the first round with an 88 (+16) and is tied for 47th.
The final round of the tournament gets underway on Tuesday morning.
