Saintine Paces ASeven Bobcats On All-Southeast Region Team PDF Print

The Lees-McRae College men's track and field team placed seven student-athletes on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor all-Southeast Region team, announced

USTFCCCA officials Thursday.
Lees-McRae has sat atop the region poll throughout the season, posting 38 individual top-10 finishes and establishing a trio of new school records. Nazaire Saintine (Douglassville, Ga.) earned all-region honors in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump after setting program records in each event this season.
Malcolm Peeler (Shelby, N.C.) garnered region recognition in the long jump and triple jump, as Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) and Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.) were both honored in the pole vault. Kendell Davis (Douglassville, Ga.) earned all-region honors in the triple jump, while Devan Mackey (Hickory, N.C.) and Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) garnered region recognition in the shot put and 60-meter hurdles, respectively.
Lees-McRae returns to action in the first meet of the outdoor season on Friday, March 3 when the Bobcats travel to Hickory, N.C. to take part in Lenoir-Rhyne University's Power Sox Invitational.

 


Bobcats Place Seven On All-Southeast Region Team

 


The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team placed seven student-athletes on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor all-Southeast Region team, announced USTFCCCA officials Thursday.
Lees-McRae has ranked among the top teams in the region throughout the season, posting 31 individual top-10 finishes and establishing four new school records. Freshman Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) earned all-region honors in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 400-meter dash, establishing a new program record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.98 seconds at Appalachian State University's Mountaineer Split Open on Jan. 19.
Rachelle Cleveland (Moyock, N.C.) and Jamara Cook (Claremont, N.C.) earned all-region recognition in the shot put and weight throw, respectively, as Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) and Persephanie Mcrae (Brooklyn, N.Y.) both garnered all-region honors in the high jump. Taryn Moorhead (Deer Park, Wash.) and Iesha Poindexter (Jetterville, Va.) each garnered all-region recognition in the pole vault and 60-meter dash, respectively.
