Bennett Hixson (Greensboro, N.C.) drove in a game-high four runs as Brevard completed the weekend league series sweep of Lenoir-Rhyne.

However, the Tornados quickly responded with six runs in their half of the third which included Hixson's bases-clearing triple.
L-R cut the lead to 10-8 with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning but couldn't get any closer than two runs the rest of the way. The two squads traded runs in the eighth inning to make it an 11-9 final.
Sophomore second baseman Mike Gasque (Mebane, N.C.) scored three runs while junior outfielder Rai Robinson (Kings Mountain, N.C.) added two hits and three RBI for Lenoir-Rhyne, who lost its fifth straight game.
Brevard's Brennan Daniels (Statesville, N.C.) (1-0) was credited with the win while L-R sophomore Travis McQueen (Moseley, Va.) fell to 0-2 after being tagged with the loss. Casey Smith (Kernersville, N.C.) earned his second save of the season for the Tornados.
Lenoir-Rhyne faces Barton in a doubleheader on Wednesday in Asheboro, N.C., beginning at 3:00 p.m. Brevard hosts Winston-Salem State on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
