The ninth-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (10-2) swept a doubleheader from Pfeiffer (2-4), 2-0 and 9-0, Monday afternoon at Bears Field. With the victory in the first game, L-R Head Coach

Game One - Lenoir-Rhyne 2, Pfeiffer 0
L-R senior Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) pitched a two-hit shutout while sophomore shortstop Jody Mizelle (Colerain, N.C.) supplied the lone offense of the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to lift the Bears to the win.
Millwood improved to 5-1 on the season after striking out seven batters for her second shutout in 2012 while Mizelle's home run was her team-leading fifth of the year.
Pfeiffer lost despite a two-hit, 12-strikeout performance from Melanie Conklin (Wellington, Ohio), who fell to 1-2 on the year.
Game Two - Lenoir-Rhyne 9, Pfeiffer 0 (six innings)
Lenoir-Rhyne senior second baseman Carlee Carpenter (Newton, N.C.) finished with five runs batted in and ended the game with a walk-off three-run home run as the Bears run-ruled the Lady Falcons in six innings to complete the doubleheader sweep.
The Bears also scored a pair of runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings started off by a two-run double from junior outfielder Kristin Lackey (Hickory, N.C.) in the second frame.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior Lauren Harris (Yadkinville, N.C.) (1-0) pitched the final four innings for her first win of the season while Pfeiffer's Shelby Brown (South Hill, Va.) fell to 1-2 with the loss.
L-R remains at home to take on Lees-McRae in a doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Bears Field. Pfeiffer next plays at Newberry on Thursday in a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.
