Lenoir-Rhyne's Kevin Davis has been named to the 2012 Capital One CoSIDA All-Academic District III Team for NCAA Division II Men's Basketball. CoSIDA is the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Davis, a senior guard from Charlotte, N.C., averages
7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game to go along with a team-leading 59 assists this year for the Bears. Davis is a two-year starter who has also averaged 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the Bears in their last 10 contests.
In his first year with the Bears in 2010-11, Davis averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while leading the squad in assists with 64.
Davis is a political science major who carries a 3.44 grade point average and is a member of the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Davis is now eligible for 2011-12 Academic All-American honors.
To be nominated for Capital One Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or a significant reserve on his team.
