Five WHS Matmen Headed To Regionals PDF Print

Watauga High wrestling Todd Allan has announced that five Pioneers will venture to Charlotte Friday and Saturday for the Class 4A Western Regional. Hough High School will host the

regional championships this weekend. Mark Townsend, Gus Coffey, Demetre Kostis, Gab Irwin and Jeremy Critcher will represent WHS at regionals. Townsend, Kostis and Coffey are seeded.
Townsend is seeded fifth at 106 pounds; Coffey is seeded second at 113 and Kostis is seeded second at 132. Irwin (at 152) and Critcher (at 195) are not seeded. The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the state championships in Greensboro, February 24-25.
