Robinson Tallies Four Hits In Bears Loss PDF Print

The Belmont Abbey College Baseball Team (4-1) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (1-4), 3-1, Tuesday afternoon at Abbey Yard in a non-conference affair. The Crusaders' allowed just one run on the day while scattering 10 hits in the victory.  Belmont Abbey's Cody Stull

(Matthews, N.C.) (1-0) earned the win after pitching 3.1 scoreless innings while Emilio Pagan (Simpsonville, S.C.) was credited with his third save of the year as he registered the final two outs of the game.
L-R got the board in the opening frame when junior designated hitter Rai Robinson (Charlotte, N.C.) connected on an RBI single with two hits. Robinson finished four-for-four on the day to lead the Bears.
Belmont Abbey tied the contest in the bottom of the fourth inning when Pagan came through with a run-scoring single.
The Crusaders' Joey Frabasile (Hartsdale, N.Y.) scored the game-winning run in the fifth inning before Gabby Amor (Miami, Fla.) made it a 3-1 final with an RBI double in the seventh.
Frabasile scored twice and Amor added two hits and an RBI to lead Belmont Abbey. Lenoir-Rhyne junior Ryan Reedy (Clearwater, Fla.) fell to 0-1 on the year after suffering the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne and Belmont Abbey will face each other in the 2012 home opener for the Bears on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. L-R is also looking to snap a four-game losing streak.
