LMC Women Ranked 4th In Southeast Region Poll PDF Print

The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team is ranked fourth in the 2012 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Indoor Track and Field Southeast Region Poll, announced USTFCCCA officials Tuesday. Limestone College tops the region

with a total of 416.34, followed by Mount Olive College (372.75), King College (306.17), Lees-McRae (203.64), and Queens University of Charlotte (197.08). Anderson University is sixth with a mark of 181.62, followed by Clayton State University (142.48), Lenoir-Rhyne University (93.73), and Mars Hill College (72.23).
The Bobcats performed well this past weekend at the Kent Taylor Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet, as freshman Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) posted a trio of top-10 finishes. Thornton notched her best performance of the day in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, running a personal-best time of 9.42 seconds to qualify for the finals. She finished seventh in the finals with a mark of 9.45 seconds, while also placing 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.72.
Lees-McRae returns to action Friday, February 17 when the Bobcats travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in Appalachian State University's Pre-Conference Meet.

 


Bobcats Top Region For Third Straight Week


The Lees-McRae College men's track and field team sits atop the 2012 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Indoor Track and Field Southeast Region Poll for the third straight week, announced USTFCCCA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae tops the region with a total of 368.14, followed by Mount Olive College (313.10), Mars Hill College (247.31), Limestone College (217.73), and Clayton State University (206.70). King College is sixth with a mark of 204.24, followed by Anderson University (152.41), Queens University of Charlotte (139.25), and Lenoir-Rhyne University (129.94).
The Bobcats performed well this past weekend at the Kent Taylor Invitational Indoor Track and Field Meet, posting six top-10 finishes as a team. Sophomore Evan Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) recorded a personal-best of 4.61 meters in the pole vault, finishing sixth in the event as junior Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.) placed seventh with a mark of 4.31 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action Friday, February 17 when the Bobcats travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in Appalachian State University's Pre-Conference Meet.
