Storm Wins Fourth Straight Tournament PDF Print

The Watauga Storm 14-and-under boys basketball team won its fourth consecutive tournament championship this past weekend. The Storm (12-0), which remained undefeated, won the Bring Your A Game AAU Tourmanent

at the Gateway Center YWCA in Winston Salem, N.C. The Storm defeated the North Carolina Tigers of Raleigh 64-51 in the opening round. They followed that up by smothering the Carolina Hawks of Kernersville 54-28 in the semifinals.
The Storm saved its best for last as it rallied to beat D1 Division CC Flight of Concord N.C., 44-41 in the championship game. Watauga, which trailed for the majority of the game, finally took the lead with six minutes to go in the second half and pulled away to win the tournament. The Storm travels to Elizabethton, TN, next week to play in the Love Of The Game Valentine Classic before preparing for their up and coming YBOA season.
