WHS Swimmers Have 11 Regional Qualifiers PDF Print

The Watauga High swimming team will be sending 11 regional qualifiers, including six relay teams to the Class 4A Western Regional on Saturday in Huntersville at the

Family & Fitness Acquatic Center. The WHS men and women will both be competing in the 200-medley, 200-free style and 400-free style relay events. Hailey Middlebrook (the 100 free style and the 100 backstoke), Darby Middlebrook (200 IM and the 100 breast stoke), and Anne Taylor (50 free style and 100 free style) in two events each. Doria Kosmala will be competing in the 100 backstroke.
On the men's side, Noah Allain, Ben Watson, Sam Erwin and Marc Funston will be competing in the relay events; Funston will also be competing in the 100 butterfly. The top four finishsers in each event will advance to the state finals at the Triangle Acquatic Center in Cary, N.C., next Saturday.
NOTES: The WHS wrestling team will be competing at the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference tournament in Taylorsville on Saturday.
