They say good things happen to those who wait. Well, if that's the case, then Appalachian State Univeristy senior DeAndre Presley, who endured a somewhat disappointing season for the Mountaineers, is reaping the rewards at the right time. Presley, who played multiple positions after an injury forced him out as ASU's starting quarterback,
was invited to play in the Florida All-Star Game last Saturday at Florida-Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. And he took advantage of the situation by returning a punt 65 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Presley, who bounced off a defender after fielding the punt, reversed field and reached pay dirt as the North All-Stars blew out the South All-Stars, 51-3. ASU teammate, Travaris Cadet, who was playing for the South, picked up 14 yards on four carries.
The North was coached by Bobby Bowden; the South was coached by Howard Schnellenberger. There were 29 NFL teams, four Canadian Football League teams and one Arena League team scouting last Saturday's all-star game.
