The Huskies (14-2 overall; 9-1 Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference) rattled off 14 consecutive wins after an opening-day loss to East Surry (way back on November 22). But that unblemished streak was halted Friday night by Starmount. The Rams, led by

Charlie Wagoner, whio poured in a game-high 25 points, defeated the Huskies 56-53 at The Dog Pound in West Jefferson, NC.
Sam Gammons and Andrew Lopp led the Huskies with 14 points each; Zeb Richardson had 13 points.
Starmount won the women's game as the Rams defeated Ashe County 53-51 Friday night. Brittany Moose hit a pair of free throws with 8.5 seconds left to win it for the Rams. Morgan Hudler led the Huskies (5-11; 2-8 MVC) with 13 points; MacKenzie Johnson had 12.
