More Treacherous Than it Looks...Schools Closed PDF Print

Road conditions for early today are more treacherous than recent snows we’ve had, mainly because of the rain that fell before the temperatures fell below freezing, leaving a layer of ice under the snow.  Area law enforcement reports trees were downed overnight, there are many areas of black ice where the snow has not covered the roads —and it is more slippery out across the High Country area, and law enforcement is recommending no travel unless absolutely necessary.  Power outages have been very limited in spite of winds gusting overnight, but the word of the day is stay—stay home if you possibly can.
