The Business of Noise-Special Meeting Tuesday PDF Print

It may not be the sound of silence, but after nearly a half year of no real noise ordinance in the business districts of Boone, the Town Council may be ready to take action.  A special meeting has been called for next Tuesday, January 10th at 6pm to go over the data from the demonstration made last month when Boone Police assembled a quick rock band

and tried to violate the parameters of the proposed noise ordinance.  The meeting notice includes two assessments of data from that demonstration, giving sound levels inside and outside the council chambers, with doors open and closed.  The council has scheduled their discussion and has the option to take action on the new ordinance.  Again, that’s 6pm Tuesday at the Boone Town Council Chambers.
