Donations to the Yosef Club have surpassed $1 million for the first six months of the 2011-12 fiscal year, Appalachian State University senior associate athletics director Rick Beasley announced

on Monday. The robust giving mark the first time that Yosef Club donations, which provides scholarships for ASU student-athletes, have hit the $1 million mark prior to January 1.
“On behalf of the entire ASU athletics family, particularly our 450-plus student-athletes, I’d like to thank our generous donors that continue to give to the Yosef Club at record levels,” Beasley said. “Thanks to the alumni, family and friends that have already donated to the Yosef Club, we are well on our way to a seventh-straight record-setting fundraising year and continue to close in our ultimate goal of fully funding student-athlete scholarships for all 20 of our sports.”
With the second half of the fiscal year historically being when the majority of Yosef Club donations aremade, the $1 million already given in 2011-12 is a 10 percent increase over the same point last year. Yosef Club members went on to donate a total of $2,502,351 in 2010-11, setting a record for the sixth-straight year.
To donate to the Yosef Club, visit or call the Yosef Club office at (828) 262-3108 or 877-GO-YOSEF.
