Donald Sims' stay with the Reno Bighorns of the National Basketball Association Development League didn't last very long.
Appalachian State University's all-time leading scorer

was placed on waivers by the Bighorns on December 21. Sims played in eight games and had one start. He averaged 6.9 points-per-game, he was shooting 31% from the floor, 21% from the three-point line and 89% from the free-throw line. He was averaging 23 minutes a game, and he scored 55 points during his eight-game stay with the Bighorns.
Sims, who was not selected in the National Basketball Association Draft last June, was selected by the Bighorns in the fourth round with the fourth pick of the NBDL Draft on November 3. Sims scored a career-high 16 points in a 105-88 win against the Tulsa 66ers on December 16. He played his final game with the Bighorns on December 17.
Sims was a two-time All-Southern Conference First Team selection; he was the SoCon Media Player of the Year in 2010; and he finished his career at ASU as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,185 points.
Next to his scoring record, Sims also owns five other ASU marks: three-pointers (358), free throw percentage (89.2), free throws (545), three-point attempts (883) and field goal attempts (1,477). And he ranks in ASU's top-10 in six other statistical categories.
