White Christmas in High Country Forecast PDF Print

It's official...the National Weather Services is forecasting a white Christmas for the High Country.  The warm weather that has caused ski slope operators to use what below-freezing weather has come their way to make snow, will give way to cold just in time to turn Christmas Eve rain showers into snow showers. No accumulation prediction is given in the forecast, but the perfect scenario for the mountain weather is for just enough white stuff to make for family photos in the snow--not enough to keep family away.  The official verbiage from the NWS is: Saturday Night...Cloudy with a chance of rain showers. A chance of snow showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 30s. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
Christmas Day...A chance of snow in the morning. Cloudy with a chance of rain. Highs in the lower 40s. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.
