Strong Steps Down PDF Print

Bill Strong turned in his resignation on Monday, December 5.
The longtime football coach, who had a successful career coaching football

in Grayson County, Va., will officially retire on January 1. In his six-year stay with Ashe County High, Strong led the Huskies to 41 wins and six straight playoff appearances.
He only had one losing season and he guided the Huskies to a pair of Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference titles (in 2006 and 2007). The Huskies were 6-6 this season. They lost to Bandys in the opening round of the Class 2AA state playoffs.
