Curry Leads Bobcats At ASU Invitational PDF Print

Sophomore Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.) paced the Lees-McRae College women's track and field team to a solid season-opening performance at the 2011

Appalachian State University Invitational Indoor Track Meet on Saturday.
Curry opened the season with a 13th-place performance in the high jump, recording a mark of 1.53 meters. Persephanie Mcrae (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also finished in the high jump with a mark of 1.48 meters.
Jamara Cook (Claremont, N.C.) and Kayla Frazier (Chesterfield, S.C.) placed 18th and 20th in the shot put with marks of 10.42 and 9.73 meters, respectively, as Genay Miller (Woodstock, Ga.) finished 23rd with a throw of 9.26 meters. Miller also placed15th in the weight throw with a mark of 11.44 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action on January 14, 2012 when the Bobcats travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in ASU's App Open.

 

Saintine, Peeler Headline Bobcats' Record Day At ASU Invitational

 

Nazaire Saintine (Douglasville, Ga.) established a pair of school records and posted two top-five finishes to lead the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team at the 2011 Appalachian State University Invitational Indoor Track Meet on Saturday afternoon.
Saintine posted a school record of 2.03 meters in the high jump to finish third, while also establishing a program mark of 7.03 meters in the long jump en route to a fourth-place performance. Malcolm Peeler (Shelby, N.C.) also established a new school record in the triple jump, posting a mark of 13.81 meters en route to a fifth-place performance.
Assistant coach Mike Wilson topped the competition in the pole vault, competing unattached and posting a mark of 4.57 meters to top the podium. Junior Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.) also finished eighth with a jump of 4.27 meters, as Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) placed 10th in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.07 seconds.
Lees-McRae returns to action on January 14, 2012 when the Bobcats travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in ASU's App Open.
