Appalachian State junior Anna Freeman was named as the Southern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Freeman, who averaged 24 points per game in two contests last week,

helped lead the Mountaineers (2-1) to wins over Gardner-Webb and East Tennessee State.
She scored a career-high 28 points at Gardner-Webb and followed up the performance with 20 points in Monday's home opener against ETSU.
Freeman shot 51.0 percent (16-for-31) from the floor and was a perfect 13-for-13 from the charity stripe for the week. Her four blocked shots against ETSU moved her into fifth place in ASU history with 182 steals.
Appalachian State returns to action on Friday when they take on Eastern Kentucky at 4 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga. as part of the Georgia State Thanksgiving Classic. The Apps will finish up their road trip with a 4 p.m. game against Georgia State on Saturday.
