Bears Ousted By Armstrong Atlantic State PDF Print

The seventh-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State Women's Soccer Team (17-2-3) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne (17-3-1), 1-0, Friday morning in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Finals at the Pirate Soccer Complex in Savanna, Ga.
AASU advances to the national quarterfinals to take on the winner of

South Region Championship between Tampa and Lynn Sunday at home beginning at 1 p.m.
The lone goal of the match came at the 15:10 mark of the first half when the Pirates' Nadima Skeff (Brasilia, BRAZIL) received a service in the box and scored on a shot to the far post.
Courtney Cawley (Savannah, Ga.) and Kristina Pascutti (Lilburn, Ga.) were both credited with the assist for Armstrong Atlantic State.
The Pirates' goalkeeper, Maggie Carson (Aurora, Ill.), picked up the shutout win after stopping two Bear shots.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior Caitlin Scruggs (Torrance, Calif.) suffered the loss in goal despite allowing just one score while tallying five saves on the day.
Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division II, also lost despite holding a 15-13 edge in shots taken in the contest including a 12-3 advantage in the second half.
L-R and Armstrong Atlantic State were playing in the regional finals for the second consecutive season.  In 2010, the Bears won by a score of 1-0 in Columbus, Ga.
