Ten Huskies Earn All-MVC Honors PDF Print

The Ashe County High football team had ten players named to the Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference All-Conference team.
Lineman Josh Wineberg led the way. He was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and he was also an all-MVC choice on offense and defense. Matthew Sexton shared dual honors with Wineberg as he was an All-MVC selection both offensively and defensively.
Quarterback Sam Gammons and punter Anthony Federico were named all-conference

on offense; Wesley Moore was named all-conference on defense; Kole Goss, Carson Knight, Andrew Lopp, Dominic Maxwell, and Nate Price were named Honorable Mention.
The Huskies were 6-6 this season and lost to Bandys in the first-round of the Class 2AA state playoffs. Ashe County has made the state playoffs nine consecutive times.
