Storms Rake State, Cause Boone Wreck PDF Print

The storms that raked our state just as darkness fell last night claimed lives as tornadoes ripped through Rowan, Davidson, Cleveland and other counties, that after killing three in York County South Carolina.  One very heavy line of showers hit the High Country around 4 yesterday afternoon, that partially to blame for a wreck on US 321 just south of Boone.  In that, a blue Ford sedan hydroplaned and overturned just off of the road in the sharp curves just before the town limits.  Boone Fire and Watauga Medics were called to the scene and checked out driver Chelsea Elizabeth Dufour, 21,of Greenville, and her passenger, but the state patrol listed the accident as property damage only—no injuries.
