Appalachian State University men’s golf signed Caleb Keck (Reidsville, N.C./Rockingham County) to a National Letter of Intent for 2012-13, head coach Bill Dicus announced on Wednesday morning.
“Caleb brings a strong game to go along with his

strong academics to Appalachian. We look forward to having him join our program,” Dicus commented.
At Rockingham County High School, Keck competes for coach Mike Williams and earned all conference honors in each of his three seasons. He qualified for the state tournament as a junior last spring.
Keck improved his nine-hole scoring average each season with 38.5 strokes per round as a freshman, 37.4 as a sophomore and 37.1 last season as a junior.
Keck is the son of Robert and Sheryl Keck and has an older sister, Kylie. He plans to major in accounting at Appalachian.
Dicus’ Mountaineers have won two tournaments in the 2011 calendar year, including this fall’s Hummingbird Intercollegiate, in which the squad rallied from seventh place with lowest round in program history.
Appalachian returns to the course this spring in search of a Southern Conference title.
