Name Picked out of a Hat: Lambert Gets Seven Devils 4-year Term PDF Print

At the end of tallying votes for the Town of Seven Devils a week ago today, incumbent Kathryn Copley and Brad Lambert tied for second in voting for three seats--43 votes each--so the Watauga Board of Elections, in certifying the election, took steps to resolve who would have a four year and who would have a two year term.

Stella Anderson, Chairman of the BOE, ran the ballots back through the machine, and after finding the results the same, both candidate’s names were placed in a Watauga Sheriff’s Office hat, and Sheriff Len Hagaman pulled one slip from the hat.  The name--Brad Lambert. So Lambert joins Larry Fontaine—another newcomer—in the four year terms for Seven Devils, and Lambert, at the Board of Elections, said he is ready to serve, "Well, I'm very pleased to have the four year term.  I'm more pleased thatI think the group we have coming in now coming into the council is a dynamic group.  People get along--I look for great things out of the five of us."
