Linville Signs With Western On Tuesday PDF Print

Watuaga High senior Max Linville will sign his National Letter of Intent with Western Carolina University Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the WHS Media Center. Linville, a three-year starter with the WHS baseball team, batted .356 last season with three home runs and 16 runs-batted-in. He produced a team-leading 31 hits and led the Pioneers with nine doubles. Linville also led WHS with a .586 slugging percentage and he was fifth on the team with a .423 on-base percentage and and second on the team in stolen bases with eight steals in nine attempts.
Linville, who made a huge impact with the varsity as a sophomore, moved from center field to shortstop last spring. Linville belted six home runs his sophomore year batting lead-off. He is a two-time All-NW3A/4A Conference selection.
