Three swimmers win two events each for the Bears PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Swimming Teams competed in a tri-meet against Pfeiffer and Converse at the Merner Pool.
The L-R women's team fell to both Pfeiffer (148-113) and Converse (159-95) while the Lenoir-Rhyne men's squad lost to Pfeiffer by a 154-105 score.
On the women's side, L-R freshmen Chelsea Kyle (Knoxville, Tenn.) and

Lakenn Reynolds (Elkin, N.C.) each won two events.  Kyle won the 50-yard freestyle (26.30 seconds) and 500-yard freestyle (5:29.58) events while Reynolds finished first in both the 100-yard backstroke (a school-record 1:02.20) and 100-yard butterfly (1:01.01) events for the Bears.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team - consisting of junior Gina Glenn (Matthews, N.C.), senior Lindsay Atkin (Hickory, N.C.), Kyle and Reynolds - place first with a time of 1:56.31.
For the men, three L-R swimmers won events:  sophomore Alec Reitzel (Hickory, N.C.) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (a school-record 10:22.09), junior Teddy Esch (Lenoir, N.C.) in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.97) and freshman Cody Shaw (Winterville, N.C.) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:04.11).
Both the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams next compete in the Fall Frenzie at the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday and Saturday.  Wingate University is the host institution.
