Former Appalachian State University football player Dexter Jackson has found a new home, at least for now.
He's been added to the New York Jets practice squad

as a wide-receiver. Jackson, who has played two seasons in the National Football League, played for the Virginia Destoyers of the United Football League this fall.
That team was coached by former NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer. His son, Brian, is the offensive coordinator of the Jets.
Jackson was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2008. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers before they released him after training camp last season.
The Jets entertain New England Sunday night.
