City of Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy along with members of Asheville City Council and Buncombe County Commissioners will be the first in line to purchase tickets at 10 a.m. on

Friday, November 11 for the 2012 SoCon Basketball Championships to be held March 2-5, 2012. The Championships are the first of three years that Asheville will host at the newly renovated Asheville Civic Center and the new Kimmel Arena at UNC Asheville.
Joining the elected officials on Friday will be leaders of the Asheville business community who are joining forces to support the Champions of Tomorrow program, designed to provide an opportunity for youth and teens at risk in our community to attend the weekend of basketball. Companies sponsoring the Champions of Tomorrow program are Asheville Savings Bank, BB&T, Dixon Hughes Goodman, First Citizens, Insurance Services of Asheville, TD Bank, and Wells Fargo. Combined these businesses are providing over 300 tickets to local non-profits including Big Brothers / Big Sister, Children First, and the YMCA of Western North Carolina.
In celebration of Friday's festivities and the return of the Championships, tournament organizers will randomly choose five lucky individuals to win a pair of lifetime tickets while the Championships are in Asheville. To participate in this raffle interested individuals should visit the Asheville Civic Center Box Office between November 11 and 18 to purchase tickets or complete an entry form.
Tickets to the general public go on sale Friday, November 11 (11/11/11) exactly 111 days before the SoCon teams arrive in Asheville. Fans can purchase their tickets at the box offices at both the Asheville Civic Center and Kimmel Arena, or online at TicketMaster.com.
