Baldwin Dismissed By Warriors PDF Print

Randy Baldwin has a very short stay as head football coach at West Caldwell High. And during his two-year stay with the program, the Warriors, who have gone through nine losing seasons, were a woeful 4-18. That includes a winless 0-11 season this year. The biggest letdown this season was the loss of star player Ryan Corpening, who went down with a broken ankle on the second play of the season at Ashe County. The Warriors lost that game 41-6 and it was all downhill from there.
Baldwin, who has coached at various schools over the years, led the Pioneers for one season before he was dismissed in 1996. Watauga High was 3-8 in his only season in Boone. But they finished the season on a winning note by knocking off Alexander Central 24-7 in Taylorsville. Baldwin was dismissed in the spring of 1997.
He's also coached at Hibriten, North Wilkes and was the offensive coordinator under Mike Biggerstaff at East Burke. The Warriors, who haven't had a winning season since 2002, are 19-82 in the last nine years. They've also had two winless seasons in the last four years.
