Porter 22nd At NYC Marathon PDF Print

Sarah Porter of Zap Fitness in Blowing Rock, running in only her second professional race, finished 22nd on Sunday at the New York City Marathon. Porter, a native of Bellingham, WA., was the NCAA Division II national champion in track and cross country last season. She finished Sunday's race in 2-hours, 44-minutes, 25 seconds. Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia won the NYC Marathon in 2:23:15.
Porter, who graduated from Western Washington University, turned in a fifth-place finish at the U.S. Road Runner Championships in Minneapolis, MN., on October 15 in her first professional race3. She completed that race in 55:01.
