WHS Soccer Kicks-Off At 6 P.M. PDF Print

Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that Saturday's Class 4A second-round state playoff game between the Pioneers and Mallard Creek will kick-off at 6 p.m. at Jack Groce Stadium.
The Pioneers (16-5-1)

advanced by knocking off Mooresville 2-1 in double overtime Wednesday night. It was WHS's first post-season win since 2008. Mallard Creek (14-7-3) is the No.3 seed from the I-Meck Conference. The Mavericks advanced by defeated A.C. Reynolds 4-1 in the opening round.
The winner of this game will play either Olympic or Lake Norman in the Class 4A Sectional Quarter-finals next Wednesday. If the Pioneers win, they would host that game.
