Catamounts Dismiss D-Coordinator PDF Print

The Western Carolina University football team has dismissed its defensive coordinator/assistant head coach.
Matt Pawlowski was relieved of his duties


by interim Athletics Director Fred Cantler on Monday. Pawlawski, who was in his fourth season as defensive coordinator, also coached defensive backs. The Catamounts (1-7; 0-6 Southern Conference), winless and in last place in the SoCon standings, are giving up the whopping total of 46 points and 502 yards a game.
WCU coughed up 463 yards in a 52-24 loss at Samford last Saturday. The Catamounts entertain Wofford College at 3 p.m. this Saturday in Cullowee.
Head coach Dennis Wagner has announced that Jeff Hood will be the interim defensive coordinator, and that Mike Rhea will take over duties as assistant head coach. The Catamounts travel to Boone to play Appalachian State next Saturday, November 12 for a 3:30 p.m. game.
