LRU Women Top Seed At SAC Soccer Tournament PDF Print

Fresh off its unbeaten and untied league regular season, the Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team earned the No. 1 seed in the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne will face eighth-seeded

Carson-Newman (5-10-1) on Wednesday in the quarterfinal round at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex beginning at 5 p.m.
L-R is 15-1 on the season, 9-0 in conference play and is currently on a school-record 14-match winning streak. The Bears are also ranked No. 5 nationally and second in the recent NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Poll.
The Bears defeated the Lady Eagles by a 2-1 score earlier this year on September 27 in Jefferson City, Tenn., after falling behind by a goal early in the match.
Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series with Carson-Newman, 14-12-2, while the two teams last squared off in the league tournament in 2009 finals as the Lady Eagles prevailed by a 3-1 score.
L-R, the defending conference tournament champion, is also the No. 1 seed in the Food Lion SAC Women's Soccer Tournament for the second consecutive year.
The semifinals and finals of the league tournament will take place at Manchester Meadows on Friday, November 4, and Sunday, November 6, in Rock Hill, S.C.
