Fresh off its unbeaten and untied league regular season, the Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team earned the No. 1 seed in the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.
L-R is 15-1 on the season, 9-0 in conference play and is currently on a school-record 14-match winning streak. The Bears are also ranked No. 5 nationally and second in the recent NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Poll.
The Bears defeated the Lady Eagles by a 2-1 score earlier this year on September 27 in Jefferson City, Tenn., after falling behind by a goal early in the match.
Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series with Carson-Newman, 14-12-2, while the two teams last squared off in the league tournament in 2009 finals as the Lady Eagles prevailed by a 3-1 score.
