|WHS Regional Title Match Begins At 6 p.m. Tuesday|

Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that the volleyball team will play Providence in the class 4A Regional championship game Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Lentz-Eggers Gym. The Pioneers (22-7),
riding an eight-game winning streak (their longest of the year) made it to regionals for only the fourth time in school history. The last time WHS reached the regional finals was in 2000 at West Charlotte. The last time WHS hosted a regional championship game was in 1998. The Pioneers made it to the state finals that season. WHS advanced by defeating Hough in three straight games Saturday in the sectional finals; Providence (26-2), the No.1 seed from the Southwestern 4A Conference, advanced by eliminating Northwest Guilford 3-0 on Saturday. The Panthers own four state championships with the last one coming in 2005. They were state runner-ups in 2006, losing to Roxboro Person, and last season, losing to Apex in the finals.
The Class 4A state champiionship game will be played at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
NOTES: Wrght has also announced that senior Colby Combs will sign her National Letter of Intent with Bluefield Colllege, an NAIA school in Bluefield, Va., Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the WHS Meida Center; Anna Church will sign with Bluefield next Tuesday, November 8, at 3 p.m. at the Media Center.
