ASU Women Picked Second By SoCon Media PDF Print

A day after being picked to finish second in the SoCon Coaches Preseason Poll, Appalachian State women's basketball was also tabbed to finish second in the SoCon Media Preseason Poll as announced by the league office on Friday.
Appalachian picked up eight

first-place votes and finished just seven points behind preseason favorite Chattanooga, which snagged 12 first-place votes.
Samford, which won the 2011 SoCon Tournament, was selected to finish third with 191 points and one first-place vote while Elon finished in fourth with 170 points.
Furman picked up a first-place vote but finished with 133 points to round out the top-five. Davidson and Georgia Southern were selected in the sixth and seventh spots.
UNCG, College of Charleston and Western Carolina rounded out the top-10 while Wofford was picked to finish last with just 31 points.
The Mountaineers take to the court for the first time when they play host to Mars Hill in an exhibition tomorrow at 11 a.m. inside the Holmes Center.
