|Bears Earn Two SAC Weekly Honors|

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Major Herron (Kingsland, Ga.) and B.J. Woodley (Charlotte, N.C.) have been named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players Of The Week, respectively, league officials announced this afternoon.Herron, a senior quarterback, wins the award for the second time this year.
Herron finished with a game-high 129 yards on the ground and two scores in addition to 147 yards passing and two touchdown tosses to lead Lenoir-Rhyne to a 51-21 win over No. 21 Mars Hill last Saturday on the road.
Herron also spearheaded a Lenoir-Rhyne attack that generated a season-high 589 yards of total offense including 429 on the ground as the Bears won over the Lions on the road for the first time since 1989.
Herron currently leads the Bears this year in rushing (566) and passing yards (677) in addition to nine touchdowns on the ground and six more through the air.
Woodley, a sophomore defensive lineman from Charlotte, N.C., finished with four tackles including 3.5 for a loss and two quarterback sacks against Mars Hill.
Woodley also led an Lenoir-Rhyne defense that limited Mars Hill to just 251 yards of offense including 48 yards rushing by the Lions' Jonas Randolph, who came into the contest as the nation's leading rusher.
For the season, Woodley has registered nine tackles and a team-high three quarterback sacks.
Wingate's Paul Grammaticopoulos was named the South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Player Of The Week.
Lenoir-Rhyne (4-3, 3-1) returns home to host Wingate (5-3, 4-1) in a conference showdown next Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium beginning at 2 p.m.
