The University of North Carolina men's basketball team has been voted the top team in the preseason USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll.
The Tar Heels received all but one

of the 31 first-place votes from a nationwide panel of coaches and a total of 774 points. Kentucky is No.2 and the Wildcats picked up the other No.1 vote.
North Carolina, which was 29-8 last season and lost to Kentucky in the East Regional final of the NCAA Tournament, returns all five starters from last year's team, which includes forwards Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Tyler Zeller.
Duke, which was a regional semifinalist last season, is sixth in the preseason poll and is followed by Vanderbilt, Louisville, Memphis and Florida to round-out the top ten.
The Tar Heels open the season against Michigan State on November 11 at the Quicken Loans Carrier Classic in San Diego, CA.
