|Bobcats Make Play To Dig Out Cancer|

The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team hosted Dig for the Cure Night on Wednesday evening, honoring former Bobcat Meme Brown and her courageous fight against ovarian cancer during LMC's Conference Carolinas matchup with North Greenville University.The Bobcats honored Brown between sets two and three, presenting their former teammate with flowers and a framed jersey after sharing some heartfelt words of appreciation and encouragement. Lees-McRae also sold teal t-shirts to benefit ovarian cancer research at the match, raising nearly 500 dollars in the process.
Brown played two seasons for the Bobcats in 2009 and 2010, posting 71 kills, 33 blocks, 19 service aces, and 18 digs in 32 matches played. The Booneville, N.C. native posted a solid performance on Dig for the Cure Night last season, going a perfect 3-for-3 on the attack while recording two service aces and two blocks.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Friday when the Bobcats travel to Greenwood, S.C. to participate in Lander University's Crossover Tournament. The Bobcats will take on USC Aiken at 5 p.m., followed by a pivotal regional clash with No. 16 Armstrong Atlantic State University at 7 p.m.
