The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team is ranked third in the first NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll of the 2011 season.

Lenoir-Rhyne is 13-1 on the year and is the midst of a school-record 12-match winning streak.  Armstrong Atlantic State (11-2-1) and North Georgia (12-1) are ranked ahead of the Bears at first and second, respectively.
Other South Atlantic Conference schools represented in the poll this week are Wingate (11-2) at sixth and Tusuclum (8-5-1) at eighth.
A total of six teams from the Southeast Region will be selected to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament.  The six schools will include the league tournament champions from the Peach Belt Conference, the Conference Carolinas and the South Atlantic Conference in addition to three at-large teams.
Last year, the Bears won the SAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the first time in school history.  L-R, which went 19-2-2 in 2010, also earned its first-ever trip to the playoffs and advanced all the way to the national quarterfinals.
Lenoir-Rhyne is currently ranked sixth in this week's NSCAA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, its highest ranking nationally in school history.
L-R hosts Wingate in a South Atlantic Conference showdown Saturday at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex beginning at 5 p.m.  The Bears are 7-0 in conference play while the Bulldogs are 6-0 against league foes in 2011.
