The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team, fresh off clinching a share of its first Conference Carolinas regular season championship since 2000, is ranked ninth in this season's first NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll announced NCAA officials Thursday.

Lees-McRae (11-2-1, 10-0 CC) is on a tremendous run of form recently, carrying a 12-match unbeaten streak into Saturday's conference clash with Coker College. The Bobcats posted a 4-0 win over Erskine College on Wednesday night, celebrating senior night by clinching at least a share of the league title while locking up the top seed in the conference tournament.
Armstrong Atlantic State University (10-2-1) tops the region poll, followed by North Georgia College & State University (11-1-0), Lenoir-Rhyne University (12-1-0), Columbus State University (10-3-1), and Lander University (11-2-1). Wingate University (10-2-0) is sixth, followed by UNC Pembroke (7-4-2), Tusculum College (7-5-0), Lees-McRae, and Mount Olive College (8-3-1).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Hartsville, S.C. to take on Coker in a conference matchup at 4:30 p.m. The Bobcats can clinch the outright conference title with a victory over the Cobras.
