Foore Joins ASU Softball Coaching Staff PDF Print

Coaching veteran Roman Foore has joined Appalachian State University softball’s staff as the program’s hitting coach, head coach Shae Wesley announced on Wednesday.

Foore, a Rosemount, Minn. native, brings eight years of coaching experience to Appalachian. Most recently, he served as the assistant at St. Thomas University  last season.  He helped lead the Tommies to the 2011 Regional finals and a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
Prior to coaching at St. Thomas, he was the assistant varsity coach at Eagan High School from 2006 to 2010, where he was named assistant coach of the year in 2008 by the Minnesota High School Softball Coaches Association.  While Foore was still at Eagan, he coached the Minnesota Angels (men’s 23-under team) to a North American Fastpitch Association championship in 2007.  Before arriving to Eagan, Foore coached the 18-under Burnsville Traveling Fastpitch team to state championships in 1999 and 2000.
In addition to Foore’s extensive coaching experience, he also as a vast playing experience.  He is currently on the United States Men’s National Fastpitch Team, and will compete in the Pan America Softball Championship in November to qualify for the World Men’s Fast Pitch Championships in 2013.
Foore graduated from Texas Lutheran in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
