LMC Women Ranked Sixth In Scoring Offense PDF Print

The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked among the nation's top 10 teams in a pair of categories, and is listed in a total of 11 individual and team categories, announced NCAA officials Monday with the release of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics.

Lees-McRae (10-2-1, 9-0 Conference Carolinas) has earned a result from each of its last 11 matches, posting a 10-0-1 record in that span to open conference play with an unblemished 9-0 record. The Bobcats enter the week ranked sixth in the nation in scoring offense (3.0) and eighth in shutout percentage (0.692), while also being listed 24th in winning percentage (0.808) and 30th in goals against average (0.681).
Sophomore MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) enters the week ranked 16th in the nation in match-winning goals (four) after delivering a pair of decisive strikes against Belmont Abbey College and Mount Olive College to give the Bobcats a two-game lead in the conference standings with three contests left on the schedule. The 5-7 forward is also ranked 23rd in total goals (10), 27th in goals per match (0.769), and 44th in points per contest (1.69).
Freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, Fla.) has been tremendous between the pipes for the Bobcats this season, entering the week ranked 31st in goals against average (0.655) and 79th in save percentage (0.800) after recording her seventh and eighth clean sheets of the campaign last week. Senior Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) is also ranked 41st in the nation in assists per match (0.46), while freshman Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) is listed 50th in goals per match (0.692) and 68th in points per contest (1.54).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats host Erskine College in a conference matchup at Tate Field. The match is slated to kick off at 5 p.m. following the Bobcats' senior night festivities.

The Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is ranked among the nation's leaders in 13 individual and team categories in this week's edition of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Monday.
Lees-McRae (10-3-1, 7-1 Conference Carolinas) has been on a tremendous run of form recently, having won six straight matches to jump to 19th in the nation in winning percentage (0.75). The Bobcats are also ranked 52nd in total goals (25), 63rd in shutout percentage (0.29), 68th in scoring offense (1.79), and 85th in team goals against average (1.38).
Sophomore James Galvani (High Wycombe, England) put together an outstanding individual performance last week, scoring six of the Bobcats' nine goals to lead LMC to a trio of pivotal conference victories over Pfeiffer University, Belmont Abbey College, and Mount Olive College. The reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week has scored nine goals in his last five matches to jump to 25th in the nation in both total goals (10) and total points (23). Galvani is also ranked 31st in both points per match (1.77) and goals per contest (0.77).
Freshman James Smith (Eastbourne, England) enters the week ranked 35th in the nation in total assists (five) and 84th in helpers per match (0.36), while sophomore goalkeeper Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, England) is listed 64th in goals against average (1.18) and 90th in save percentage (0.735).
