ASU Sixth In National Polls PDF Print

The Appalachian State University football team, despite a close call on Saturday at The Citadel, moved up a notch in the national polls.
The Mountaineers (4-2 overall; 2-1 Southern Conference) are currently ranked sixth in The Sports Network/Fathead Top 25 Poll and in the FCS Coaches Poll. Georgia Southern,

which destroyed Furman on Saturday, is still the No.1 team in the country. The Eagles (6-0; 5-0 SoCon) received 127 first-place votes in the TSN Poll and 27 first-place votes in the Coaches Poll.
Wofford College, which defeated Virginia-Wise in a non-conference game last Saturday, remained the same in the national polls. The Terriers (5-1; 3-1 SoCon) are ranked fourth in the TSN Poll and fifth in the Coaches Poll. The Terriers also received three first-place votes in the TSN Poll.
Georgia Southern, Northern Iowa (18 first-place votes), North Dakota State (9), Montana State (2) and Wofford (3) round out the top five in the TSN Poll; Georgia Southern, Northern Iowa (one first-place vote in the Coaches Poll), Montana State, Wofford and North Dakota State round out the top five in the FCS Coaches Poll.
There were nine Colonial Athletic Association teams ranked in the TSN Top 25, a new conference record. Maine was ranked ninth, James Madison was 11th, New Hampshire, which lost to William & Mary, is ranked 13th this week, William & Mary is 14th and Delaware is 15th.
The Mountaineers return home to celebrate Homecoming Saturday against Samford. The Bulldogs (4-2; 2-2 SoCon) have won three in a row. Our coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. on AM 1450, WATA.
