It's official, the University of North Carolina has named former Tulsa athletic director Bubba Cunningham as the school’s next AD.

Cunningham, who spent six years at Tulsa, was approved by the University trustees in a meeting Friday morning. Cunningham will officially take over on November 14 and his contract runs through June 2017.
He replaced current AD Dick Baddour, who will step down October 28 after the school meets with the NCAA infractions committee concerning the school's football program. Baddour was AD at UNC for 14 years.
Cunningham can also receive bonuses for average team academic performance, as well as when the football team reaches a bowl or the men’s and women’s basketball teams reach the NCAA tournament.
